| | Alpha Lipolic Acid (ALA) by SciFit, also known as thioctic acid, is a disulfide compound that is a cofactor in vital energy producing reactions in the body furthermore, it is a powerful antioxidant. Alpha Lipolic Acid has been shown to increase ATP production in the mitochondria due to its role in the oxidation of pyruvate and alpha-ketoglutarate, leading to higher energy production.* ALA is extremely neuroprotective. In Germany, ALA is an approved treatment for diabetic neuropathy. Moreover, there is work suggestive of some mild benefits in the treatment of several neurodegenerative disorders, including but not limited to, Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimer's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and Huntington's Disease. ALA is also cardio protective. There is evidence that ALA may prevent or slow the development of Atherosclerosis. Various animal studies have further suggested that ALA can prevent or reduce tissue damage during heart attacks or strokes. ALA also helps prevent the oxidation of LDL cholesterol. ALA may be an anti-aging substance. There is work suggestive that it slows the aging of the brain and is an anti-aging substance in general. One Capsule Contains: Alpha Lipoic Acid 300mg. Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement, take 1 capsule one to three times daily or as recommended by a physician. Warning: Diabetics or anyone with insulin sensitivity should only take under a physician's supervision. Do not take if pregnant or lactating.
